2025 Muskogee Area Literacy Writing Contest has begun!

This year’s theme is “Stories From the Front Porch…”

Open to adults 18 and over

Entry window: June 2 – July 7, 2025 (by 9:00 pm)

Email entries to: pchastain@eols.org

Subject Line: 2025 Adult Writing Contest Entry

Attach your story and a required cover page.

Cover page must include:

  • Title of your story
  • Your full name
  • Your contact info (cellphone and email)

Do NOT include your name, contact info, or other personal details in your entry!

Entries with identifying info will be disqualified.

Formatting:

  • Double-spaced, 12-pt font, 1” margins
  • English only, no images or charts
  • No excessive obscenity
  • Page numbers (bottom center)
  • Title at top of page 1

Judging Criteria:

  • Creativity
  • Originality
  • Fitting the theme

Judges will not receive any personal information.

Awards Ceremony will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m., July 17.
