Sign up for this free reading program for young children—all it takes is to read one book a day with your child to build a foundation for lifelong success, including developing literacy skills and a love of reading.

How It Works

1. Sign up your infants, toddlers, and preschoolers online at eols.beanstack.org or at your local library.

2. Track the books you read to your child/children on the Beanstack app or on a printable sheet you can get at the library.

3. Every time you read 100 books, visit your library for certificates and/or prizes.

4. When your child reaches 1,000 books read, go to the library to get a diploma!

Q&A

How do we read 1,000 books before Kindergarten?

It’s easy!
1 book per day for 3 years=1,095 books
10 books per week for 2 years=1,040
3 books a day for 1 year=1,095

Do we have to read only books from the library?

Nope, any age appropriate books count! No matter where you get them, how many times you read them, they all count. But, remember that your library card gives you free access to our full catalog of books and ebooks, including special collections in hoopla, Overdrive, and more.

Don’t have a library card yet? No problem! To have immediate access to the library’s collection, visit https://eols.org/library-cards/ to register for a 30-day temporary card. To get your permanent card, please visit your local library.
