04 Apr Fort Gibson’s Q.B. Boydstun Library Reopens Just in Time for Spring Fun
How’s your Spring going, library lovers? Ours is going great because the Q.B. Boydstun Library opened back up on March 24! We still have several projects we’re working on and
we’re waiting on the new furniture and signage, but all books, videos, and games are shelved, the computers are hooked up, and we are able to provide most services as usual.
The meeting room will be available again soon, and first up in there is OHAI’s very popular Tai Chi program, led by Jenna Chavez. The first class will be Tuesday, April 8, at 1 p.m. If you
want to sign up or just learn a little more about it, you can call Jenna at 918-660-3172 or send an email to jenna-chavez@ouhsc.edu.
Nancy Edscorn will be leading another painting class on Saturday, April 26. Her classes have limited numbers and are for adults ages 18 and over. To reserve your spot, you’ll need
to come by the library and pay the $10 class fee.
Community meetings are starting to reassemble, so be sure to check in with the people in charge of Seniorcises, Book Club, and Genealogy for more information on when your
groups will be meeting back at the library.
Our regular programming will start back up soon as well, so please keep an eye on our online calendar at eols.librarycalendar.com for updates on Storytime, STEAM, and much
more! You can also use the online calendar to find special programming from our fellow EOLS branches for National Library Week (April 6-12). NLW is an annual celebration
highlighting the valuable role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening our communities.
Lastly, we’d like to thank the Fort Gibson First United Methodist Church for allowing us to set up there for a few weeks so we could continue to loan books to the community and
host kids programming. You guys were great hosts!
We’ve missed you all and are very glad to be back to being librarians instead of general contractors (we definitely have our strengths), so come by and say “Hi!.”
