Jim Lucas Checotah Public Library Plans Pickleball Tournament, Programs for October and November

As autumn sets in, temperatures are cooling and fall colors are beginning to show. Here at your Jim Lucas Checotah Public Library, we have just what you need to turn over a new leaf!

You can learn a new instrument in our weekly guitar lessons, taught by Kenny—the Branch Manager. Register by phone or at the front desk.

Or you can strengthen your funny bone at our Improv for All Ages interactive comedy workshop at 4 p.m., Tuesday, October 22.

Our book club will meet at 2 p.m. on the third Thursday of the month, and the Adult Pinterest Party occurs at 5 p.m. on the final Tuesday of the month.

The library will be closed on Monday, October 14. Please feel free to use our wide selection of resources online, including our extensive collection of Native American resources.

We also have our reliable favorites returning for October: Tai Chi 11 a.m. on Thursdays, DND on Fridays, and Storytime on Tuesdays. October’s Storytime themes include pirates, octopi, facing your fears, pumpkins, cats, and of course, Halloween.

Finally, we have another pickleball tournament coming up on the first weekend of November! For more details, contact the tournament sponsors: Market 26 and Checotah Perk.

As you can see, the library is so much more than books. Come by and discover what your local library has to offer. We can’t wait to see you.
