Registration for the summer reading program here in the branch opens Tuesday, May 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This summer we are offering events for people of all ages to come and enjoy.
“Adventure begins at your library,” is this year’s program theme. Come and grab a calendar to stay in-the-know about all the adventures that are to come at your Checotah library.
Expect lots of laughs, learning, and fun with special guests and hands-on activities this summer.
On June 4, a live petting zoo will be in town. The library will be hosting Extreme Animals, a program for all ages. To attend, stop by and grab your free tickets starting on June 3.
Got milk? On June 11, the Southwest Dairy Farms are bringing their mobile dairy to town. The program will consist of learning the ins and outs of the dairy farm operations.
If you’re an art lover, we have got the program for you. Specifically for the teens and adults, the library presents “The Bob Ross Challenge” along with a costume contest. Prizes will be awarded to the best Bob-Ross-inspired costume. The teen program begins at 1 p.m. and adult program begins at 5 p.m.
The library will be hosting a Disney day. Join us at 11 a.m. June 25 for a costume contest and showing of a classic movie. Show up and show out. Best dressed will receive a prize.
Help us welcome Bart Taylor, from the Will Rogers Memorial Museum, for some “Readin’ and Ropin’” at 2 p.m. July 2.
Let’s have some fun in the sun! What better way to cool off, than with some water games? Starting at 11 a.m. on July 3, all are invited to enjoy some water activities at the library.
Other programs, such as come-and-go arts and crafts, a tea party, a field day, and STEM activities will going on throughout the summer. To wrap up the Summer Reading Program, prize day will be celebrated on July 24.
