01 May Hulbert Community Library Welcomes New Staff, Plans Spring Programs
Happy Spring! I hope everyone has been enjoying the weather and the flowers. At Fort Gibson we are winding down from our Bicentennial Bash weekend. and at Hulbert Community Library, we recently expanded our hours and hired two new employees.
Aidan Floyd is our new Library Assistant. He is currently enrolled at Tulsa Community College pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer forensics /cybersecurity. His goal is to work for an international computer security company in Switzerland.
Kaitlyn Morrison is our new clerk and she is graduating this May from Northeastern State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She plans to attend OSU Tulsa’s Mental Health Counseling program and earn her LPC to work in community mental health as a school-based counselor.
We are very happy to have them both at Hulbert Community Library! The great thing about working at the library is that you can make a program out of your own hobbies and interests. and each of them jumped right in planning programs around their passions that they are excited to share with the community.
One of Aidan’s obsessions is Dungeons and Dragons. He is a Dungeon Master and leads a couple of groups already, so he is very excited to start a D&D group at the library. If you are a high school student who is interested in joining, come to the first meeting at the Hulbert Community Library on May 2 at 3:15 p.m.
Meanwhile, Kaitlyn grew up gardening with her grandma and parents. She is beginning a gardening series that kicks off this week with Container Gardening. That class is already full, but be on the lookout for her next session on May 23, Planting for Pollinators.
Come by Hulbert Community Library soon to welcome Aidan and Kaitlyn to our team!
