Muskogee Public Library Receives Kirschner Trusts Grant to Purchase Books for Give-Aways

MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma–Muskogee Public Library is pleased to announce it has received a $4,000 grant from the Kirschner Trusts at Oklahoma City Community Foundation. The grant will be used to purchase books for families to build their home libraries.

“These books will help support families to improve mental and physical health through reading and by visiting the library’s healthy fitness programs where the books will be given away,” said Children’s Librarian Jennifer Fuller. “We greatly appreciate the Kirschner Trusts’ continued support to bring health literacy to our community.”

Programs where the library will be able to give away books may include events at the library’s permanent StoryWalk® located in the Arboretum at Honor Heights Park in Muskogee, the annual bike rodeo, Muskogee Touch-a-Truck, and the library’s pop-up StoryWalk® that is taken to community events year-round.
