Julie Poor has been named as the Muskogee Public Library Branch Manager. She is a long-time Eastern Oklahoma Library System employee who started working for the system at Tahlequah Public Library in 2008.

She then worked at Muskogee Public Library before becoming the Shared Branch Manager for Q.B. Boydstun Library in Fort Gibson and Hulbert Community Library last year.

Poor has a Bachelor’s in English Literature and Creative Writing from the University of New Hampshire. She will graduate in December with a Master’s of Information and Library
Science from Pennsylvania West University.

“My family and I are very excited about the opportunity I have to serve the community of Muskogee,” Poor said. “I am looking forward to building public awareness of what the library offers and ways we can support this community.”

Muskogee Public Library is open from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. Saturday hours are 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and the library is closed on Sundays.
