11 Jul Eufaula Memorial Library Welcomes New Branch Manager, Shymekia Adams
The Eufaula Memorial Library recently introduced Shymekia Adams as the new branch manager.
Adams is a Muskogee native, a graduate of Muskogee Public Schools, and has 23 years of teaching experience. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Langston University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northeastern State University.
“I find it a true blessing to have the opportunity to serve in this capacity, being that helping others is my passion,” Adams said.
Adams has taught at Muskogee Public Schools, Tulsa Public Schools, and Union Public Schools, and taught every grade (except third), including alternative and adult education. She also enjoys reading realistic fiction, dancing to all kinds of music, and attending sporting events.
“I appreciate both the community that I live in—Muskogee, and the community in which I work—Eufaula because, in both of these areas, I have a strong support system, a sense of connection and community, an opportunity to engage and empower others, and last but not least a charge to be a part of the greater good,” she said.
