RIBBON CUTTING FOR MUSKOGEE PUBLIC LIBRARY’S STORYWALK® IN HONOR HEIGHTS PARK SET FOR JUNE 27

MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma—Muskogee Public Library invites everyone to a celebration and ribbon
cutting for the new StoryWalk® at Honor Heights Park at 6:30 pm, June 27.

The StoryWalk® is located in the C. Clay Harrell Arboretum at Honor Heights behind the
Butterfly Papilion, and the celebration will take place at the entrance.

There are 20 signposts that will feature pages of a children’s book along the paths of the
Arboretum. A map of the signposts can be found at eols.org/storywalk.

The inaugural book will be Be a Tree! written by Maria Gianferrari and illustrated by Felicita
Sala. The library will change books every 30-45 days.

StoryWalk® at Honor Heights Park is a health literacy initiative of the Muskogee Public Library
and is sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, Oklahoma State Department of
Health, and Institute of Museum and Library Services—with special support from the City of
Muskogee’s Parks and Recreation Department.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, and developed in
collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library.
