Muskogee Public Library Receives $1.5 Million Grant from City of Muskogee Foundation

Muskogee Public Library is pleased to announce a substantial gift from the City of Muskogee Foundation that will move the library toward a complete renovation of the 52-year-old building and a reimagining of library services that will positively impact the community for years to come.

“We are so grateful to the Foundation. We are dreaming big for the future, and this gift is a tremendous springboard for us,” said Executive Director Kathy Seibold.

The library is also part of an upcoming sales tax vote that could garner an additional $1.1 million for the library—earmarked specifically for the outdated, exhausted, electrical and HVAC systems.

“We are off to a great start in raising the full $8 million needed to turn this library into the first ‘destination library’ in the state of Oklahoma,” Seibold said.

The Muskogee Public Library’s ongoing Imagine More campaign hopes to enable not only addressing the many building needs, but building a place where digital immersion sparks curiosity, where entrepreneurs find the tools and community to launch their dreams—and where a spectacular, immersive exhibit will not only entertain and inspire community visitors, but bring visitors from far and wide.
