31 May Enter Your Adult and Children’s Stories in the MALC Writing Contest—All Northeastern Oklahoma Residents Eligible to Enter
Adults 18 and over are eligible to participate. Submit your children’s story or adult story by 9 pm July 1st to enter! First place winners of each category win a $25 Walmart gift card!
Send your original work via email to pchastain@eols.org between June 1 and 9 pm July 1 to enter the contest!
Requirements:
Participants must be 18 or older and live in northeastern Oklahoma
Entries may be submitted between June 1, 2024 and 9 pm July 1, 2024.
One submission per person, per category
Submission Guidelines:
Must be your own original work—AI entries will be disqualified!
Double space with 1″ margins; use 12 pt font.
Must be written in English; do not use images.
No excessive obscenity.
Number your pages.
The title of your story must be at the top of page 1.
Children’s stories must be between 1,500-3,000 words.
Adult stories must be between 3,500-5,000 words.
How to Submit Your Entry:
Send your entry by email to pchastain@eols.org.
Subject line: 2024 [Adult or Children’s] Writing Contest entry
Be sure to attach your entry to the email.
You must have a cover page that includes:
Title of your story
Your first and last name
Your contact information: cell phone and email
Do not include your name, phone number, address, or any personal information INSIDE your composition/story.
If your name or any other identifying information appears anywhere in your entry, it will be disqualified.
Judging is based on the following criteria:
Creativity
Originality
Fitting the theme
No personal information, including your name, will be given to the judges.
First place winners of each category will receive a $25 Walmart gift card.
